List of Phones banned by Whatsapp : WhatsApp, the most popular messaging app platform, is used by almost 95 per cent smartphone users in India. However, there are a few smartphones that will not be able to use WhatsApp by end of this year. According to statements by the popular app service, WhatsApp will be pulled out from Symbian and BlackBerry BBOS this year.

“This was a tough decision for us to make, but the right one in order to give people better ways to keep in touch with friends, family, and loved ones using WhatsApp,” the firm annnounced.

These devices will no longer able to run WhatsApp:

  • BlackBerry, including BlackBerry 10
  • Nokia S40
  • Nokia Symbian S60
  • Android 2.1 and Android 2.2
  • Windows Phone 7.1

While these mobile devices have been an important part of our story, they don’t offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app’s features in the future. WHATSAPP will no longer be supported on a number of mobile phones from December 2016 – but there is no need to panic, it’s a great time to upgrade your smartphone.

Earlier this year, the Facebook-owned firm revealed Nokia S40, Nokia Symbian S60, Android 2.1 and Android 2.2 and Windows Phone 7.1 would no longer be compatible with the app.
